Philosophy, from the Greek word philosophia literally meaning “love of wisdom”, is an essential part of every creed – theistic or atheistic. It gives the broader underpinnings of the belief which is important to properly understand the belief and ensure it’s everlasting continuity by applying it to later times and new situations.

The source material of the website is from the Encyclopedia of Philosophy From the Routledge. The sheer diversity of philosophical is a unique feature of this project.

Routledge is a multi-national academic publisher on various subjects. The editor of this encyclopedia is Oliver Leaman. He is the Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy (REP) Subject Editor for Arabic and Islamic Philosophy. He was Reader in Philosophy at Liverpool John Moores University and now at University of Kentucky, USA.
